  • As a Navigation specialists you will oversee the Nav Databases for all the aircraft American flies throughout the world.  In addition, you will assist Airspace Specialist in designing Performance Based Navigation procedures used by pilots worldwide.
  • This role is a part of the Airspace Optimization team within the Flight Operations group.

What you'll do

This list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced.  Management will modify the job or require other tasks to be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.

  • Once a month you will validate all AAL aircraft databases.
  • Work with Honeywell, Jeppesen, Lido on database related topics.
  • Participate in industry activities related to Performance Based Navigation designs.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience

  • College degree or equivalent training/experience
  • 5 years of major airline employment in flight operations  

 

Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience  

  • Experience using NDB Explorer and OneNav+ programs
  • Experience with Flight Operations and airport operations
  • Data analytic experience

 

Skills, Licenses, and Certifications

  • Good personal communication skills
  • Commercial Instrument pilot license or equivalent
