Job Description

Intro

Are you ready to explore a world of possibilities, both at work and during your time off? Join our American Airlines family, and you’ll travel the world, grow your expertise and become the best version of you. As you embark on a new journey, you’ll tackle challenges with flexibility and grace, learning new skills and advancing your career while having the time of your life. Feel free to enrich both your personal and work life and hop on board!

Why you'll love this job

  • The role is a part of our Product Transformation and Enablement team leading the largest Dojo experience (“The Hangar”) supporting both Product and IT organizations. “The Hangar” is one of the most ambitious Dojo-style transformations in the aviation industry. Product teams across the enterprise — Engineers, Product Owners, Product Managers, Scrum Leads, Engineering Managers, and UX Designers — move through a structured, coach-led journey designed to change how they build, deliver, and continuously improve in shorter cycles.
  • In this role, you will contribute by connecting a Product’s roadmap to execution, operate across cross-functional teams, and drive measurable outcomes working across a diverse portfolio of products.
  • You will bring a combination of three skills – Leadership, Product & Engineering and Coaching.

What you'll do

As noted above, this list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced.  Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.

  • Lead a team of product and technical coaches both internal and external to AA towards our Hangar’s expectations.
  • Onboard, mentor and oversee the Dojo engagement for the assigned Product/Technical coaches in the Hangar.
  • Be proficient in Product management practices and partner with stakeholders in our portfolios to support product transformation.
  • Embrace our Hangar working model across five stages – Stabilize, Discover, Teach, Engage and Sustain.
  • Serve as AI thought leader and capability builder for the Hangar coaching staff raising AI fluency across the coaching team and our product teams.
  • Enable coaches to integrate AI into their own practice without losing the human judgment.
  • Identify where AI can meaningfully accelerate team performance and coach teams toward adoption with measurable outcome targets.
  • Partner with leadership on executive alignment conversations — translating transformation needs for IT Directors, Managing Directors, and EAT members.
  • Define and track specific success indicators for each coaching engagement focusing on OKRs, Business Value, Value Stream Map, etc.
  • Promote product teams to deliver measurably better results: faster, sustainable, higher quality, and aligned to business value.
